Solar cell to reach parity with semiconductor industry by 2010
Worldwide investments in the production of photovoltaic (PV) cells, or as most people know them, solar cells, will rise to the same level as those for semiconductor manufacturing by 2010. This is due to booming demand for solar energy, which will rise annually at a pace of 40 percent, with price declining by a similar level. This in turn will increase the number of installed production lines four-fold.
